Drama Script Writing

Scene:

You are Chris. You have chosen to meet Sandy, the girl you like, to directly express your feelings to her instead of writing her a letter. You may choose just to meet Sandy or to meet both Sandy and Pat, your best friend who also likes Sandy, so as to deal with this triangular relationship. Write the dialogue.

Sandy: I didn't expect you'll call me out. You know . . . it doesn't match your personality.

Chris: (hesitating) Yes . . . you're right. I've to lift up my courage to see you. I know that we have to settle this triangular relationship. Sandy, tell you the truth, I loved you at first sight. Do you remember the days you were playing volleyball? I . . . always hid behind the trees. You know your enchanting smile was just like a sweet and your face was just like an angel. (talking with delight) It sounds absurd, doesn't it? But when you really love a person, you won't care how fool it is.

Sandy: (smiling with charm) Yes. . . I know. I understand that.

Chris: Who are you thinking of? (tittering) Pat or me? Sandy, think about it seriously.

Sandy: (pleading) Pat . . . I don't want . . .

Chris: (speaking seriously) Sandy, triangular love hurts both of us?

Sandy: (wanting to cry and having nothing to say)

Chris: (soft-spoken) Moreover, Sandy, studying is the most important part at our age. We have to learn more, see more. When we grow up, we can do anything we want. We can date others. We can have our family, babies. We can have our dream life. (stopping for a moment) Pat is coming. He knows the situation between you and me. I'm sorry I haven't told you Pat would come. However, Pat is my best friend, I don't want to betray him.

Sandy: I understand you. You are always considerate, especially to friendship. Okay, let's wait for Pat.

(5 minutes later, Pat arrived and sat next to Sandy)

Chris: Sandy, I've never seen Pat loves a girl so much and so seriously. He told me he wants to marry you when you're old enough. And he won't let you go or give you up. His love towards you is deeper than the sea. Can't you see it?

Pat: (speaking with a heavy heart) Chris. . . No, I'll let her go. I just want her to be happy. I don't want to detain anyone who doesn't love me. I know that I will regret if I do so. So will Sandy! (looking into Sandy's eyes) . I've never changed my mind that I'll . . . love you forever. Just go! I'll be okay.

Chris: Sandy, do you remember I've said studying is the most important?

Sandy: (doubted) um . . . yes . . . What do you mean?

Chris: Pat, Sandy, I'll . . . leave Hong Kong tomorrow. I've decided to go to England to continue my study.

Pat: (astonished) Why didn't you tell me?

Chris: Pat, you're my best friend. Our friendship will never end. I remember that you told me friends will not hurt each other. Yes, it is correct. I don't want to make you sad. I just want all of us to be happy. So, I decided not to tell you the truth, I'm sorry.

Pat: Yes, you're right. Nothing can break our friendship!

Chris: Sandy, if you don't love Pat, please tell him now and leave him. Do not play with his heart and hurt him. And if you love me, you will have to wait for me for five years if you can. (stopping for a while) . However, I know you won't wait for me and you won't leave Pat because . . . I can see how much you love Pat. When you are looking into Pat's eyes, I can see blessedness with your eyes. But when you're looking into my eyes . . ., I can't see any love. . .

Sandy: Yes. . . Chris. . . I love Pat. Now, I know I can't lose Pat.

Chris: I'm happy to hear that. Pat, even if I had traveled all around the world, I still would not have found another friend like you.

Pat: (laughing) If I hadn't met you, I would have never known what true friendship is.

Pat and Chris: (saying together) Friendship is having someone to hug you when you lose the game, the love game!

Chris: Going to the party with you is Pat, but not me. I won't forget you, my dear. (kissing Sandy's forehead to say goodbye)
