Scene:
You are Chris. You have chosen to meet Sandy, the girl you like, to directly express your feelings to her instead of writing her a letter. You may choose just to meet Sandy or to meet both Sandy and Pat, your best friend who also likes Sandy, so as to deal with this triangular relationship. Write the dialogue.
Sandy: I didn't expect you'll call me out. You know . . . it doesn't match your personality. And most importantly, I am already with Pat.
Chris: (hesitating) Yes . . . you're right. I've to lift up my courage to see you . . . (looking into Sandy's eyes) Today, I call you out and talk to you face-to-face because I want to tell you something.
Sandy: (avoiding his eye contact) What . . . do you want to tell me?
Chris: There is no doubt that I have had a favourable impression on you since Form 2. Every time when I see you, my heart is beating. We have so many happy memories, do you remember that? (looking at Sandy and saying seriously) However, I know you've already chosen Pat but I think I have more advantages than him, why don't you choose me? If you can choose your lover one more time, who would you choose? Please tell me . . . tell me! (walking towards Sandy and holding her arms tightly)
Sandy: (shaking Chris's hands off) Stop . . . please . . . please. I don't want to hear any more about that . . . It makes me feel bad. Can you stop it, can't you? I want to calm down myself first, ok? (pleading)
Chris: (feeling guilty) Sorry . . . I know you feel uncomfortable now . . . but I really want to know what you are thinking . . . Now, I hope . . . I can solve the problem between us, you know. Sandy, let me know the truth, can't you? Please . . . please.
Sandy: OK . . I'll tell you what I think now. (silent for a moment) Actually, I feel you are a nice person at first sight. Every time when I need your help, you will be there and never refuse my request. . . (smiling)
Chris: Thank you for your appreciation.
Sandy: I remembered that when were in Form 2, we went to a barbecue in Sai Kung with our classmates. In one of the activities, we needed to run because we needed to find some clues for the game . . . but I fell down. My knee was bleeding and I could not walk for a long distance because of the pain. I cried. Then you were the only boy who was willing to carry me back to the site. That was something I'll never forget.
Chris: Yes . . . I remember . . . but . . . can you answer me who you would choose? (saying with a husky voice)
Sandy: (saying seriously) I had thought about this question before for a long time. Certainly, I'll still choose . . . Pat. ( smiling but feeling embarrassed)
Chris: (looking disappointed with dull eyes) OK, I will accept this fact. I am devoted to studies and I think friendship is more important than anything else. In fact, I have asked Pat to come and he may have heard what we said . . . sorry. . .
Sandy: (speaking slowly and standing blankly) Why . . . why did you do that? (blaming Pat) That's my secret . . . you betray me . . . I'm very disappointed with you . . .
Chris: Sorry . . . he didn't know why I asked him to come.
Pat: (appearing suddenly with a deep voice) Sandy!
Sandy: . . . Pat (gazing at Pat and shouting)
Pat: (smiling) I am very surprised that you've chosen me. I don't know the reason but I only know you mean everything to me . . . I love you, Sandy . . .
Sandy: (feeling like crying) I love you too . . .
Chris: Congratulations! I whole-heartedly hope you two will be happy.
Pat: (holding Sandy's hands) Thank you, Chris. Are we still friends?
Chris: Sure! We're still good friends.
Pat: I hope you can find your true love in the future . . . and thanks for your help.
